ABOUT THE EVENT
The HALLOWEEN HARVEST COSTUME BALL is the BIGGEST and MOST SPECTACULAR Halloween event on the California Central Coast happening Friday, October 26 AND Saturday, October 27, 2018! A portion of the proceeds of this event will benefit the American Association of University Women [AAUW]. Learn more about them at: https://atascadero-ca.aauw.net/about/branch/ We are working with the local branch in Atascadero of this national non-profit organization that raises money and awards grants to local women for assistance with higher education.
The Halloween Harvest Costume Ball will take place indoors in the Adelaide Hall building located within the Paso Robles Event Center, Mid-State Fairgrounds. Each night boasts an unique experience for party-goers, with both nights offering guests an epic dance party, a Grand Costume Competition including cash prizes to the Scariest, Funniest, Sexiest, Most Original and Best Couple [with $100 awarded per category] as determined by audience vote and a full bar serving beer, wine, cocktails and non-alcoholic beverages for purchase. A variety of food will also be available, for purchase, (vegetarian and gluten-free options will be offered). There are a limited number of reserved seats, at round banquet tables near the stage and dance floor, with wait staff offering tableside service. First glass of wine or beer comes with purchase of a reserved seat. Additionally, there are a limited number of RV campsites available at the fairgrounds, hookups not guaranteed however and based on first-come, first-served basis.
DO I HAVE TO WEAR A COSTUME?
YES! This is a costume ball and costumes are mandatory to gain entrance. A T-Shirt that says, “This is my Halloween Costume” does not qualify. If you arrive without wearing a costume YOU WILL BE REFUSED ENTRY WITHOUT REFUND. NO EXCEPTIONS MADE. Get creative with your costume and compete in the Grand Costume Competition that takes place both evenings! There will be a reservation table near the front entrance. Sign in at the table and our staff will take a photograph of you in your costume. There are five categories including Scariest, Funniest, Sexiest, Most Original and Best Couple with $100 awarded per category.
Five judges [one per each category] will peruse the photos and select their top five contestants. During the evening, each judge will locate and notify the top five contestants in their respective category that they’ve been chosen to compete on stage. If you enter the competition, you must be available to come on stage for judging when your name is called. Once on stage, the final winners of each category will be selected by costume ball attendees. The noise from applause and cheers of the audience will be measured in decibels by a digital “Applause-O-Meter” that will be displayed in real time on stage. On Friday night, Burning James and the Funky Flames will be burning it up with their soulful mix of fun and funky dance tunes. You cannot help but shake your groove thang to this hot band! We’ll also be hosting our Grand Costume Competition. Get your costume on and come out and compete!
In addition to our Grand Costume Competition, Saturday night guests will get down at the Devilish Dance Party with D.J. Paul Thompson who will be rockin’ the house with fun Halloween-themed sounds and dance music that will keep the energy pumping all night long!
Street parking is available near the fairgrounds as well as a parking lot directly across from the fairgrounds for only $5.
